Uses
Bring the press to the job. Why take the work to the press when you can bring the press to the work? The Portable Power Press handles the pressing, spreading, and lifting jobs that come up in the shop, the garage, and out in the field.
Pressing bearings and bushings
Press wheel bearings, bushings, and pulley bearings in and out without removing the whole assembly. Set the part on the bottom plate, lock the height, and press.
Ball joints and suspension work
Suspension and steering work often means pressing ball joints and bushings with the vehicle still on the lift. The press goes to the vehicle — the vehicle doesn't come to the press.
Bending
Put a controlled bend in flat stock and small brackets. The 4-ton ram gives you steady, even force you can feel through the pump handle.
Fabrication
Press-fit pins, set rivets, and assemble small weldments. In the fab shop it's another purpose-built tool in the lineup, not a replacement for the big shop press.
Lifting and jacking
With the ram reversed to face outward, the press pushes apart — useful for controlled lifting and spreading where a bottle jack won't fit or can't be aimed.
In-field repairs
Breakdowns don't happen next to a shop press. At roughly 4 inches wide and built to carry, the press rides along and sets up wherever the repair is.
