Our Story

The Portable Power Press was invented by Calvin Roth, a mechanic with more than 60 years of experience turning wrenches.

One day Calvin was replacing a U-joint and needed a press — not a giant stationary shop press across the shop, but something he could bring right to the work. A portable press. A clamp with real hydraulic force.

When someone asked him why he didn't just buy one, his answer was simple: "They don't make one."

So he built it himself.

What came out of his shop is the press you see here: a tall, slim, portable 4-ton hydraulic press that goes where the work is. No hauling heavy parts across the shop. No waiting on the big press. Bring the press to the job.

The design is now protected by U.S. Patent No. 11,318,696, issued May 3, 2022.

Sixty-plus years of mechanical experience went into this tool — built by a mechanic, for mechanics.
